Summer Heat on the Kaituna River

Few places on earth are more fun in the summertime than Okere Falls. Long, warm, sunny days by the lake and the Kaituna River. Rafting, swimming in the lake and fishing on Lake Rotoiti make this little town tick. In the heat of the day, you can also walk along the Kaituna, down to Hinemoa's Steps and the Tutea Falls lookout. A shady path guides you to the waterfall, where you'll begin hearing the rafters cheering together before they raft over the highest comercially rafted waterfall in the world!

Some rafts stay upright. Some go upside down. No matter what the outcome, there is always reason to celebrate.
